Amazon Buy Box (Featured Offer): why you lost it and how to win it back
When several sellers offer the same product, Amazon picks the most competitive offers and shows them at the top of the product page with Buy Now and Add to Cart. Amazon now calls this the Offer Display, and the offers in it Featured Offers — what sellers have long called the Buy Box.
Why your listing shows “See options”
If a product page shows “See options” instead of a Featured Offer, no offer is currently eligible. Amazon gives these common reasons:
- You ran out of stock. An out-of-stock offer can’t be featured.
- Your price is too high.
- Your price is too low. To protect sellers from prices that look too good to be true, Amazon may make the offer ineligible and ask you to confirm a suspected pricing error — see Amazon pricing error.
What Amazon looks at
1. Price — including shipping
Amazon says Featured Offer prices are commonly at or below the lowest-priced alternatives, and that you should consider the total price, including shipping.
2. Fast, free, predictable shipping
Offers with fast, free shipping are more likely to be featured, and so are offers with more certain delivery dates — a narrower delivery range. Amazon says fulfilling orders yourself can be just as effective as FBA, as long as the shipping is good.
3. A good order experience
- Ship the correct item, undamaged and without defects.
- Make sure the condition matches what was offered — don’t ship a Used item against a New offer.
- Make sure it’s authentic and not expired.
- Charge the correct amount, to avoid chargebacks.
Your customer service metrics are on the Account Health page — see Amazon Account Health Rating.
4. Stock
Keep inventory updated and plan ahead for fast sellers. Check stock in Inventory → Manage All Inventory.

A quick checklist when you lose it
- Is the item in stock?
- Is your total price (item + shipping) at or below the competing offers and the competitive external price?
- Did you cut the price so far that Amazon flagged a pricing error?
- Is your shipping as fast and as certain as the featured seller’s?
- Are your Account Health metrics in good shape?
