Common questions

Does Amazon charge the referral fee on shipping?

Yes. Amazon says an item’s total price includes its list price as well as shipping costs and any gift-wrapping charges.

Why is a $12 shirt charged 5% but a $25 one 17%?

Clothing uses price brackets: 5% for a total price of $15 or less, 10% from $15 to $20, and 17% above $20 — on the whole price.

Why doesn’t the calculator work out my FBA fee?

FBA fees depend on the product’s size tier and weight. Amazon’s Revenue Calculator gives the exact fee for your product; enter it here.

Amazon seller guides

Amazon account health: the rating and the metrics that put your account at risk

Amazon Brand Registry requirements: what you need to enroll

To enroll in Amazon Brand Registry you need your brand name on a logo permanently on the product or packaging, and a registered or pending trademark from an office in a country with an Amazon store — and you must own it. What else you need, what you get, and the IP Accelerator route.

Amazon seller identity verification: what you need and why it fails

Amazon verifies every new seller with a government-issued ID and proof of address from the last 180 days, then a photo or a video call. What to prepare, the document rules that trip people up, and how long it takes.

Amazon product image requirements and size

Amazon images must be 500 to 10,000 pixels on the longest side, in JPEG, TIFF, PNG or non-animated GIF. Amazon prefers over 1,000 pixels per side for zoom and recommends at least six images.
