Poshmark listing removed by a moderator? Why it happens and how to appeal

A “Moderator Removed Listing” notice from Poshmark means a listing was flagged — by Poshmark’s systems or by other members — as possibly breaking its policies. Here’s what usually causes it and how to appeal, from Poshmark’s US support centre.

What causes a removal

Items outside Poshmark’s categories. Poshmark is a marketplace for fashion, accessories, new personal care products, select home goods, select pet items and select electronics. Items outside those can be removed — Poshmark’s examples include health products, used makeup and personal care products, nail polish and perfume.

Prohibited listing activity. Poshmark also lists:

  • the item is a replica or fake;
  • the listing advertises an offline transaction (meeting up, paying outside Poshmark);
  • the listing contains offensive content.

How to appeal

If you believe the listing was removed in error, Poshmark says to reply directly to the email notification you received. A member of the team reviews the request and follows up. If you didn’t receive an email, contact Poshmark Support.

In your reply, say what the item is, why it fits Poshmark’s categories and rules, and include proof where it helps — for example a receipt or photos showing the item is genuine.

Don’t simply relist a removed item unchanged. If it’s outside Poshmark’s categories or looks like a replica, it will be flagged again — and taking transactions offline breaks Poshmark’s community guidelines.
