Poshmark package over 5 lbs: how to upgrade your shipping label
Sold a coat, a pair of boots or a big bundle on Poshmark? If the box weighs more than 5 lbs, the standard label isn’t enough — you need to upgrade it. Since February 2026, that’s simpler and cheaper.
The tiers
| Package weight | What you pay |
|---|---|
| Up to 5 lbs | Standard label — no change |
| 5.1–10 lbs | $5.00 upgrade |
| 10.1–15 lbs | $10.00 upgrade |
You pay only the difference between the original label and the upgraded one, and the whole order still ships in one package. 15 lbs is the maximum weight Poshmark supports.
This replaced the old system, which had five price tiers for 6–10 lbs costing up to $22.50 — so ignore older guides quoting per-pound prices.
How to upgrade
- Open the sale’s Order Details page.
- Under Pack Your Item(s), choose Purchase Heavier Weight Label.
- Select the package’s total weight and buy the label.
Weigh the packed box, not just the item — packaging counts.
Splitting an order instead
If you’d rather send an order in several boxes, use Purchase Additional Labels on the same page.
Don’t ship overweight
Poshmark warns that an incorrect label may lead to additional carrier postage being deducted from your earnings. Upgrading up front at $5 or $10 is usually cheaper than paying a carrier adjustment later.
Pricing heavy items
Factor the upgrade into your price — on a low-priced heavy item, $5 or $10 is a big share of what you keep after Poshmark’s fee. Check with the Poshmark fee calculator. For bundles that might go over 5 lbs, see Poshmark items not selling on setting up bundle discounts.
