Mercari files a 1099-K when you have more than $20,000 in gross payments and more than 200 transactions in a year. What counts as gross (item price, buyer-paid shipping and sales tax), when the form arrives, where to see your yearly totals, and why Mercari may ask for a W-9 early.

Mercari account limited, suspended or closed? Why it happens and what to do

Mercari limits accounts for prohibited items or conduct, repeated violations, risky activity or pending verification — and tells you why by in-app message and email. How to respond and avoid the next one.

Mercari bundles for sellers: bundle offers, shipping and returns

On Mercari, buyers can bundle several of your items into one purchase or one offer (up to $2,000), shipped in one box. How you accept, counter or decline a bundle offer within 24 hours, how bundle shipping is calculated and who pays, Shipping Protection, and why partial returns aren’t allowed.

Cancelling a Mercari order as a seller: requests, fees and your cancellation rate

On Mercari, a buyer’s cancellation request goes through automatically if you don’t confirm shipment within 24 hours. Cancelling yourself can cost 5% of the item price (up to $25), and frequent cancellations can limit your account.

Mercari listing removed? Why it happens and what to do

Mercari removes listings that include prohibited items or that it detects as prohibited conduct — including duplicate listings, excessive reposting, stock photos and keyword stuffing. How warnings escalate and how to contest one.

Mercari items not selling or getting no views? Read your numbers first

Mercari shows views, clicks and likes for every listing, and each pattern points to a different fix: a better first photo, Promote, a Time-limited sale or an Offer to Likers. The rules for each, from Mercari’s help.

When does a Mercari seller get paid? Ratings, Instant Pay and Direct Deposit

Mercari releases your earnings when the buyer rates the order, up to 72 hours after delivery. Then you cash out with Instant Pay ($3, within minutes) or Direct Deposit (free, up to 5 business days). Plus why a payout can be held.

Mercari returns for sellers: when you have to accept a return

On Mercari, buyers can only get a mandatory return within 72 hours of delivery, for items significantly not as described, damaged in shipping or counterfeit. “Doesn’t fit” and “changed my mind” are your choice. Labels, the 50-pound rule, refund timing and what to do if a return arrives damaged.

Mercari shipping for sellers: prepaid labels, who pays, limits and 2026 rate changes

On Mercari you choose a prepaid label (USPS, UPS or FedEx, flat rates across all 50 states, up to $200 Shipping Protection) or ship on your own with tracking. Who pays, size and weight limits, the 3-business-day rule, and the October 2026 rate update.

Mercari seller verification: when Mercari asks for your ID, SSN or W-9

Mercari doesn’t verify everyone at sign-up — it asks at certain limits: to sell above the $2,000 price limit, when you become a high-volume seller under the INFORM Consumers Act, and for a W-9. What each needs, and the 10-day deadline that can suspend selling.
