Google Merchant Center price mismatch: how to fix “Mismatched product price”

“Mismatched product price” means Google crawled your product page and found a different price from the one in your product data. The product may be disapproved, and Google warns that price mismatches may lead to account suspension. Here’s how Google checks and how to fix it.

How Google checks your price

Googlebot regularly crawls your landing pages and compares the price [price] attribute in your data source with the price on the page — or in your structured data markup, if you have it.

One detail causes many mismatches: Googlebot reads the HTML your server returns. If the price is filled in by JavaScript after the page loads, Google may not see it, and that triggers the error. The price in the HTML has to match Merchant Center exactly.

Common causes

  • Timing. Your site price changed, but your product data hasn’t updated yet. If prices change often, schedule regular file fetches or use the Merchant API so Merchant Center updates automatically.
  • Wrong structured data. Test your pages with Google’s Rich Results Test.
  • Bots see a different price than people. For example, a different currency or a geo-based price. The Rich Results Test helps you reproduce it.
  • Sale dates. If you use sale price [sale_price], set sale price effective date [sale_price_effective_date] correctly, including the time zone. A wrong start date shows the wrong price.
  • Minimum order quantities. If items sell only in bulk, submit the total price for the minimum quantity, matching the landing page.
  • Currency. Use the right currency for the target country. If the page shows several, match the one shown most prominently.
  • It may already be fixed. The issue was found at a specific time. Check the product’s current Status under Products → All products.

How to fix it

One product: go to Products under Products & store → Needs attention tab → filter for the issue → select the product → Edit product → correct the price → Save.

Many products: on the same Needs attention tab, filter for the issue and download the list (.csv). Compare it with your product data, correct the prices, and re-upload your data the way you normally do.

If you use Shopify, WooCommerce or another platform, fix the price at the source — edits made only in Merchant Center can be overwritten by the next sync. See Merchant Center for Shopify or Merchant Center for WooCommerce.

Getting re-reviewed

  • Do nothing: Googlebot re-crawls disapproved products over the next few hours or days, and reapproves them once prices match.
  • Request a website check after fixing, to speed it up. Google may take up to 12 hours, and you can’t submit another request meanwhile.
  • Think Google is wrong? Choose I disagree with the issue → Request review. There may be a limit on how many reviews you can request.

Crawling also depends on your server’s capacity: if your domain is at its limit, Google won’t crawl faster, so re-checks can take longer.

For what each status means, see Merchant Center product status. If the whole account was suspended, see Merchant Center account suspended.
