When does eBay pay sellers? Payout schedules and timing

eBay pays you directly to your bank account, after deducting fees. How fast depends on your payout schedule and your bank — and on any hold on the order.

The timeline

  1. Day 1 — sale completed. Once the buyer pays, the funds show as Processing in Seller Hub.
  2. Day 2 — funds available. eBay generally makes funds available within 2 days of confirming the buyer’s payment.
  3. Payout initiated on your schedule (below).
  4. Your bank takes another 1–3 days to make the money available.

So on a daily schedule, a typical sale reaches your bank roughly 3–5 days after the buyer pays. If funds sit in On hold instead of Available, see eBay funds on hold.

Change it in Seller Hub → Payments. Some bank holidays can delay payouts.

A longer schedule isn’t only slower: eBay points out that more of your earnings stay with eBay between payouts, where they can pay for shipping labels and refunds instead of charging your card.

Getting paid sooner

  • Payout on demand: on a weekly, biweekly or monthly schedule, click Request Payout next to your Available funds in Seller Hub → Payments, choose an amount and send it. It reaches your bank in the usual 1–3 business days. Not available on the daily schedule, since daily is already the fastest scheduled option.
  • Express payout: send funds to a linked Visa or Mastercard debit card or an eligible bank account, typically within 30 minutes, including weekends and holidays. It costs a flat $2.00 per express payout. You can use it on demand, or set it as your method for scheduled payouts.

When you add a new payout method, eBay delays payouts for up to 48 hours as a security precaution — don’t change your bank details right before you need the money.

What gets deducted before you’re paid

eBay takes selling costs from your funds before the payout — for example final value fees, insertion fees, Promoted Listings fees, listing upgrades and Store subscription fees. Each payout’s breakdown is in Seller Hub → Payments. To see what a sale leaves you, use the eBay fee calculator.

Bank account tips

The name, address and business details on your bank account should match your eBay account. You can add or change your checking account in Seller Hub → Payments.
