eBay final value fees by category (ebay.com, no Store)

The final value fee is eBay’s commission when an item sells: a percentage of the total amount of the sale — item price, shipping and handling, and sales tax — plus a per-order fee of $0.30 for orders of $10 or less and $0.40 above. Example: a $40 item with $6 shipping in most categories pays 13.6% × $46 = $6.26, plus $0.40 = $6.66.

Common questions

Does eBay charge fees on shipping?

Yes. The final value fee is calculated on the total amount of the sale, which includes shipping and handling charged to the buyer, and sales tax.

I have an eBay Store — are my fees different?

Yes. Store subscribers pay different final value fees. Choose “Other” and enter the rate for your Store level and category.

Can I include Promoted Listings?

Yes, for the general strategy: enter your ad rate. eBay charges it on the total sale, including shipping and tax, but only when the sale is attributed to your ad (since 2026, any click on the ad in the 30 days before the sale counts, not just the buyer’s). Priority (cost-per-click) ads, Store subscriptions and listing upgrades aren’t included; add them to “other costs”.

eBay Authenticity Guarantee for sellers: what qualifies and how it works

On eBay, eligible watches ($2,000+), handbags ($500+), trading cards ($200+) and sneakers are sent to an independent authenticator before reaching the buyer — at no cost to the seller. Which items qualify, how shipping works, and how returns are inspected.

Why do my eBay listings keep relisting? Good ’Til Cancelled renewals and fees

Fixed-price eBay listings are Good ’Til Cancelled: they renew every month on the same day until they sell or you end them, and each renewal can count as a new insertion. What that costs and how to stop it.

eBay Best Offer for sellers: auto-accept, auto-decline and sending offers to watchers

How to add Best Offer to an eBay listing, set a minimum and auto-accept amount (the auto-accept amount must be below your Buy It Now price), respond within 24 hours, counteroffer, and send discounted offers to watchers and cart abandoners.

eBay feedback for sellers: what to leave buyers, and how to get unfair feedback removed

eBay sellers can only leave positive feedback for buyers — here are examples, and how to automate it. When a buyer leaves negative or neutral feedback, eBay removes it in specific cases: wrong item, extortion, buyer cancellations, issues disclosed in the listing.

eBay listing fees: 250 free listings a month, then $0.35 each

eBay gives every seller 250 zero insertion fee listings a month; after that, each new listing costs $0.35 in most categories. How Store subscriptions raise the allowance, which categories are excluded, and the optional upgrades that still cost extra.

Why can’t I edit my eBay listing? When eBay locks changes, and your options

eBay shipping calculator: calculated vs flat-rate shipping, and avoiding label adjustments
