Vinted items not selling or getting no views? What to check (and the “shadowban” question)
“Vinted no views”, “Vinted not selling anymore” and “did Vinted shadowban me?” are some of the most searched Vinted questions. Vinted doesn’t describe anything called a shadowban in its help centre. What it does describe is hidden and removed listings — and it tells you when that happens. Start there.
1. Was a listing hidden or removed?
Vinted says it always sends you an inbox message explaining why it hid or removed a listing. Check your Vinted inbox before anything else.
- Hidden listing: something can be fixed by editing — for example the item doesn’t match its description, the photos aren’t good enough, or proof of authenticity is missing. Update the listing to follow the Catalogue Rules and it becomes visible again. You don’t need to appeal.
- Removed listing: the item breaks the Catalogue Rules or the law — for example a counterfeit, or a tobacco or vaping product. If the message includes an appeal link, you can appeal once, within 6 months.
If several listings disappeared at once, or you can’t log in, see Vinted account banned.
2. If nothing was hidden: make the listing worth clicking
Vinted’s own tips for selling faster:
- High-quality photos and detailed descriptions, so buyers understand exactly what they’re getting.
- Offer a bundle discount for buyers who buy more than one item.
- Send offers to people who favourite an item or ask about it.
- Upload regularly — new listings and price drops notify your followers.
- Verify your profile and write an About me section, so buyers trust you.
- Offer different shipping options, so more buyers have a delivery choice that suits them.
3. Check your price against sold items
Remember that buyers pay a Vinted fee and shipping on top of your price. If similar items are selling for less, the total a buyer sees for yours may simply be higher. See Vinted fees.
4. Paid visibility, if you want it
A Bump moves an item higher in newsfeeds and search for 3 or 7 days, and Showcase boosts your listings more broadly. Try the free steps first — a bump won’t fix a listing with weak photos or a high price.
Vinted’s Catalogue Rules say you should only have one listing per item. Don’t post copies of the same item to look “new” — improve and re-price the existing listing instead.
