TikTok Shop product link not showing on a video: causes and fixes
When a product link works, it shows as a yellow shopping cart in the lower-left corner of the video. If it’s missing, TikTok Shop usually tells you why — you just need to know where to look.
Check the link status first
In TikTok Shop Creator Center, go to the Video tab and open Manage. Under each video’s title you’ll see:
- No status — the product links were approved and are live.
- “XX product links in review” — not published yet. Review time varies, so wait.
- “XX product links need attention” — something is wrong. Tap the status to see what.
What each problem means
| Issue | What happened | What to do |
|---|---|---|
| Invite expired | The product is no longer in your showcase because the invite expired | Re-upload the video and link a product from your showcase |
| Rejected by seller | The seller didn’t approve you to promote this product | Re-upload with a different product, or contact the seller |
| Product out of stock | The product sold out | Ask the seller to restock — the link comes back by itself when it’s back in stock |
| Content quality violation | The video broke community guidelines, so the link was removed | Post a new video that follows the guidelines |
You can’t swap a link on a posted video
TikTok Shop says you can’t replace the product links on a video that’s already posted. If the link is wrong or was removed, the fix is to re-upload the video and link the right product.
Adding a link to a video you already posted
If you posted without a link, the Link products tool in Creator Center can add one — but only when:
- the video was posted in the last 30 days;
- it uses audio from the Commercial Music Library;
- the product is relevant to the video and the video follows TikTok Shop’s Content Policy.
If your video doesn’t appear in the tool, one of these is usually why. Videos with popular non-commercial sounds can’t get a link afterwards. You also can’t edit products that are already linked.
Linking when you post
From the TikTok camera: record or upload, edit, then tap Add link → Product, choose the product and post. Or start in Creator Center → Create video and pick the product first. If the product you want isn’t in the list, add it to your showcase first.
Sellers: if the product itself isn’t live
If a product isn’t live in your shop, creators can’t promote it. If your product is still in review, rejected or out of stock, see TikTok Shop product status.
Sellers: to get creators promoting your products, see TikTok Shop affiliate for sellers.
