When does Walmart Marketplace pay sellers? Payout schedule and new seller hold
Walmart doesn’t pay you the day an order ships. Payouts run on a cycle, new sellers have a hold on top of that, and the money goes to a wallet or payout provider rather than straight to your bank. Here’s how it works.
How often Walmart pays
Walmart says payouts generally happen biweekly (every 14 days), unless other arrangements were made. Your exact frequency is set when your account is approved — check your Walmart Marketplace Retailer Agreement or the dates on your past payment reports.
Orders settle in the cycle after they ship. In most cases you’re paid in the payout cycle following the date an order shipped or was delivered — about 28 days after the order ships or is delivered. Shipment or delivery confirmations received after the cycle’s cut-off go into the next cycle. Your cut-off is under Payment Information on the Statements page in Seller Center.
Where the money goes
ACH direct deposit to your bank account isn’t available. You choose one of:
- Marketplace Wallet — Walmart’s built-in account in Seller Center, for sellers based in the US, China and Hong Kong. US accounts can withdraw through free ACH transfers.
- An approved payout provider — PayPal (US), Payoneer, PingPong, WorldFirst/Zyla, Airwallex, Sunrate, LianLian Global or NetEase Global Pay, depending on your country of incorporation.
You can only have one payout provider at a time. To switch, select Help in Seller Center to contact Support.
Two setup traps from Walmart:
- You must set up a payout method within 30 days of onboarding after business verification. Miss it and you have to re-register and restart onboarding.
- Your legal business name and tax ID in Seller Center must exactly match the name and tax ID on your payout account, or verification and payouts get delayed.
If you see a $1.50 withdrawal fee on Payoneer, Walmart says that can happen if you signed up with Payoneer directly instead of through the link in Seller Center — it’s Payoneer’s fee, so contact them.
The new seller payment hold
Every new seller has a rolling delay: part of your payments is held back by Walmart, starting the day your first order ships or is delivered.
| Country of incorporation | Rolling delay |
|---|---|
| United States | Up to 14 days |
| Outside the US | Up to 21 days |
The hold ends only when both are true:
- 90 days have passed since your first order shipped or was delivered; and
- you’ve received $7,500 in payments.
That second condition is why sellers past 90 days can still be on hold. You do still get paid during the hold — Walmart says payments can arrive as soon as 30 days after your first sale.
How your payout is calculated
Each payout includes:
- shipped or delivered orders in the payment cycle;
- refunds processed by you or Walmart Customer Care;
- order adjustments (credits or debits);
- any negative balance carried over from the last cycle;
- fees from Walmart or its affiliates for services in the cycle.

Why a payout might be delayed or frozen
Walmart says high return or chargeback rates, or selling counterfeit or illegal items, may lead to a payment freeze, delays or permanent non-payment. An account suspension also puts payments on hold — see Walmart seller account suspended and Walmart Seller Performance Standards.
