Walmart Listing Quality score: what it measures and how to raise it
Walmart scores every listing — and your whole catalog — on Listing Quality. Walmart says quality listings drive higher conversion and visibility, and the score feeds growth programs like the Pro Seller badge. Here’s what goes into it.
The five components
| Component | What it measures |
|---|---|
| Content quality | Your item name, description, key features and images |
| Price competitiveness | Your price compared with similar products on external marketplaces |
| Shipping | Your promised delivery speed across ZIP codes |
| Published & in stock | How often the item was available to customers in the last 7 days |
| Ratings & reviews | The number of customer reviews and the average rating |
You get an item-level score for each listing and a catalog-level score, which is the average of your item scores.
Excluded: items that weigh more than 50 pounds or are listed at $10 or less aren’t counted. A component showing N/A is left out of the overall calculation.
How to raise it
- Content quality: improve the item name, description, key features and images. Use Listing Quality: Fix issues for single items, or the Bulk Attribute Editor to update many at once. If an item has been unpublished, check why with the Walmart unpublished item checker.
- Price competitiveness: check the Pricing insights dashboard to see where your offer stands against other sellers, or let the Repricer adjust prices — see also Walmart Buy Box.
- Shipping: faster promised delivery raises the score — see Walmart shipping requirements for lag time and delivery dates.
- Published & in stock: keep inventory updated; out-of-stock days count against you for a week.
- Ratings & reviews: more reviews and a higher average both help.
Walmart’s Listing Quality page in Seller Center shows suggestions for each component — start with the component where you score lowest.
Why your content changes don’t show up
Walmart picks the content it shows for each attribute and gives priority to brand owners and their authorized resellers. If you’re neither, you may not be able to change some fields — even blank ones — and your edits may not appear on Walmart.com. To get more control, register as a brand owner or become an authorized reseller.
If you think Walmart put your item under the wrong product type, you can report an incorrect product type.
How it connects to Pro Seller
Two of the Pro Seller requirements are Listing Quality components: Pro Seller needs a content quality score of 75% or more and a price competitiveness score of 75% or more. See Walmart Pro Seller badge requirements.
