Walmart Repricer: how automatic pricing works and how to set it up
Prices change constantly, and Walmart rewards competitive ones — in the Buy Box, in Listing Quality and in the Pro Seller program. Walmart’s built-in Repricer adjusts prices for you. Here’s how it works.
Before you start
You must accept the Automate Pricing Terms & Conditions, which authorize Walmart to change your item prices for you. Strategies are created on the Automate pricing page in Seller Center.
Choose what to compare against
When you build a custom strategy — for example, “meet or beat the Buy Box” — you pick a comparison:
| Option | Compares your price with |
|---|---|
| Walmart Buy Box and external retailers | Whichever is lower: the Buy Box price or competing retailer sites (item + shipping) |
| Walmart Buy Box only | The Buy Box price |
| External retailers only | The lowest price on competing retailer sites (item + shipping) |
Eligible sellers may also get an AI-powered strategy that adjusts prices to grow sales — at Walmart’s discretion.
The rules that matter
- Every item needs a minimum and maximum price before it can be assigned to a strategy. These are your guardrails — set the minimum at a price you can still profit at.
- The Repricer changes the item price only, not shipping.
- Allow up to four hours for prices to change after you assign a strategy.
- An item can belong to one strategy at a time — remove it from one before adding it to another.
- If there’s no competing offer (for example, it’s out of stock), tick Use your last submitted price if there’s no competitive price found — the price returns to your last price until a competitor reappears.
- If another seller also uses the Repricer, each offer follows its own seller’s settings.
Use the strategy preview to see how your rule would change sample prices before you turn it on, and pause or delete strategies any time.
Watch the dashboard
The Repricer overview shows 7, 30, 60 or 90 days of: strategy performance, GMV from repricing, price competitiveness, Buy Box win rate, conversion rate, and a comparison of repriced vs non-repriced items. A warning on an item usually means the minimum price was reached, no price match was found, or it’s ineligible for a promotion — open Manage items to fix it.
Walmart suggests starting with items that get the most traffic and face the most competition.
