Where a rate changes “above” a price, compact appliances, electronics accessories, furniture, jewelry and watches charge the lower rate only on the part above it; apparel, baby, beauty, grocery and outdoor power tools charge one rate on the whole price. WFS fulfillment fees are separate. From Walmart’s published referral fees.

Common questions

Does Walmart charge the referral fee on shipping?

Yes. Walmart says the fee applies to the total sales price, which includes the item price as well as shipping and handling, gift wrap and other charges.

Why did a $16 shirt cost more in fees than a $15 one?

Apparel is a bracket category: up to $15 the whole price is charged 5%, from $15 to $20 it’s 10%, and above $20 it’s 15%.

Where do I see the rate Walmart actually charged?

The Statements page in Seller Center shows the commission rate for each item.

Walmart seller guides

Walmart seller account suspended: suppression, pause, suspension and how to appeal

Walmart Marketplace can suppress, pause, suspend or terminate a seller account. What each status does to your listings and payments, which ones you can appeal, and how to write the business plan of action Walmart asks for.

Walmart Buy Box: how it’s won and why your Add to cart button disappeared

When several sellers offer the same item on Walmart.com, one offer wins the Buy Box above the Add to cart button. Walmart weighs price, shipping fee, delivery speed and seller performance. Why your Add to cart button can vanish, and the reports and tools that help you win.

Walmart Customer Care Policy: the 48-hour reply rule and what’s banned

Walmart sellers must send a quality reply to customer and Walmart Customer Care inquiries within 48 hours — weekends and days off included — and within 1 hour for BBB or Attorney General complaints. What happens if you miss it, auto-reply rules, and what sellers may not do.

Walmart seller display name rules (and the Seller Code of Conduct)

Your Walmart display name must be 3–30 characters and your company description 20–1,000, with no “Walmart”, competitor names, contact details, emojis or special characters. You can change them once every 90 days. Plus the Seller Code of Conduct rules that most often get sellers in trouble.

How to dispute a Walmart return, refund or referral fee charge

Walmart sellers can dispute charges for customer returns, Walmart Customer Care refunds, failed deliveries returned to sender, and wrong referral fees. Where to file each, the one-dispute-per-item rule, cases you can’t dispute (Keep It, your own refunds, invalid return address), and when you get paid.

Walmart Listing Quality score: what it measures and how to raise it

Walmart’s Listing Quality score is built from content quality, price competitiveness, shipping speed, published & in-stock rate, and ratings & reviews. What each one measures, what’s excluded, why your content edits may not show, and how it ties to the Pro Seller badge.

Walmart Negative Feedback Rate: how it’s calculated and how to lower it

Walmart’s Negative Feedback Rate is the share of your orders from the last 60 days with a 1- or 2-star rating, and it must stay at 2% or below — even with WFS. How item and seller reviews are counted, the drivers Walmart tracks, how to see which orders count, and how to dispute unfair reviews.

When does Walmart Marketplace pay sellers? Payout schedule and new seller hold

Walmart Marketplace generally pays sellers every 14 days, through Marketplace Wallet or an approved provider — not direct ACH. New sellers have a rolling payment hold until 90 days have passed and they’ve received $7,500. How payouts are calculated and why they’re delayed.

Walmart Seller Performance Standards: every metric and target

Walmart Pro Seller badge: requirements for every tier

Walmart’s Pro Seller program has three tiers — Rising, Advanced and Pro Seller. The exact targets for on-time delivery, cancellations, response rate, shipping speed, content quality, price competitiveness, orders and rating, what each tier unlocks, and when status refreshes.

Walmart Marketplace seller requirements: what you need to get approved

Walmart Marketplace needs a business tax ID (SSN not accepted), documents proving your business name and address, a track record selling online, GTINs, a compliant catalog and US fulfillment with returns. The five onboarding steps and why applications get denied.

Walmart Marketplace shipping requirements: lag time, ship-by date and auto-cancel

Walmart sellers must ship within 2 operational days, ship until 11 am at least 5 days a week, and upload valid tracking. How the Expected Ship Date works, when Walmart auto-cancels an order, what packaging is banned, and whether you can use Amazon MCF.

Walmart valid tracking number policy: the 99% rule and how to avoid invalid tracking

Walmart sellers must give valid tracking for at least 99% of shipments. What makes a tracking number valid, why Walmart rejects one, approved carriers only, splitting orders into boxes, and how long you can edit tracking after marking an order shipped.

Walmart Fulfillment Services (WFS): how it works, fees and requirements

With WFS, Walmart stores your inventory and picks, packs, ships, supports and handles returns for Walmart.com orders. No signup or monthly fee — you pay storage and fulfillment by size and weight. Item limits (500 lb), how to start, the Fulfilled by Walmart tag, and what WFS isn’t good for.
