Most invisible Shopify products have a setup problem, not an SEO problem. Answer a few questions and the tool shows what keeps Google away — in the order to fix it.
Question 1 of 3
Fix red first, then yellow. Green is polish — don’t start by rewriting everything.
Google can only rank pages it can reach. Work from access to content.
While the store is private (password page on), search engines can’t see any page.
Status Active and published to the Online Store channel.
Submit /sitemap.xml in Search Console and request indexing for key pages.
A clear page title and meta description decide whether people click.
Your own description and image alt text give Google something to rank.
Rule these out in Shopify admin and Search Console before installing anything.
Check Online Store → Preferences → Store access. New stores start out private.
Draft, Archived or Unlisted products — or ones not on the Online Store channel — have no public page to index.
New stores and new products can take days to weeks. Search Console shows what’s indexed.
An empty or over-long title and description make the result easy to skip.
Supplier text that appears on many sites gives Google no reason to choose your page.
You miss Google Images traffic and accessibility.
Google is showing an old copy from when the store was private. Inspect the URL in Search Console and request indexing; it updates after the next crawl.
There’s no fixed time — often days, sometimes weeks for a new store. Submitting the sitemap and requesting indexing helps Google find it sooner, but doesn’t guarantee a ranking.
Not for the basics. Shopify already generates the sitemap and canonical tags. Most gains come from fixing setup issues and writing better titles, descriptions and product copy.
